U15’s FOOTBALL PLAYERS WANTED
Play in Division 1 of the Torbay Pioneer Youth League (Play matches on Sundays).
We are looking for 2 more players to complete our squad – We can offer an opportunity to play with the best regional players against the best regional teams.

- Remember – we play on Sundays – so JPL players PLUS Exeter and Plymouth Saturday league players are all welcome and able to play for Jets on Sundays

We know applying to join any new team can be difficult and players worry if they are good enough or will make new friends – here are some helpful answers to important questions:
Jets social activities and friends
Joining our squad is a great opportunity for your son to widen his friendship base and travel to matches and tournaments with friends with similar outlook and interests and enjoy football and social activities as a group
Selection of the squad will be based on ability and friendly positive attitude
In order to ensure a positive experience we have introduced a new code of conduct for coaches, players and parents
It’s our hope that your son will make friends for life. We hope to keep this squad together for the next few years and form a close squad.
How good are Jets ? What have Jets under 15’s won in the last 12 months?
South Devon Youth Jets Under 14’s are:
- Winners of the Torbay Pioneer South Devon Under 14 League – April 2025
- Winners of Torbay Pioneer League Cup – May 2024
- Winners of the Ilchester Tournament – June 2024
- Winners of the Crediton Tournament – June 2024
- Semi Finalists of Devon County Cup Under 14 (losing on penalties) – April 2025
- Finished 2nd (out of 16) in the prestigious Barcelona Cup International under 15 football tournament – October 2025
- Invited to the prestigious Lisbon Cup International under 15 football tournament – May 2026
We are a unique grass roots team offering exceptional football opportunities and experiences.
Where do Jets play home matches? How often will they train and where?
Jets will play most home matches at South Devon Sports Centre, 3G Pitch, Eight Acre Drive, Paignton, TQ4 7TP. Some games will be played in the Newton Abbot region.
- Training will take place every other Wednesday night for 90 to 120 minutes or alternatively we will arrange special extended training sessions / training days to take place on Sunday’s or during school holidays or at other agreed times for the whole squad to get together.
- Friendly matches under lights during some evenings may also be arranged for extra training matches
What competitions are Jets entering in 2025/2026 season? What’s the Plan?
We are looking for 2 more players who want to improve and train hard to become better players and then give these players showcase matches and competitions where they can play professional academies, JPL academies, regional selected teams from the south west, take part in international competitions and compete in the Torbay Pioneer League and Devon County Cup every Sunday.
Competitions we are entering in 2025/2026 season
- April to May 2026 – Various Showcase matches against academies and regional teams
- May 2026 – Lisbon Cup – International 11 a side Championship Tournament
- Other competitions to be arranged
Tell me about the Barcelona Cup and Lisbon Cup International Tornaments
In May 2024 and October 2025 the Jets took part in the Barcelona football festival over five days (See photos on our Barcelona Football Festival 2024 page)
In May 2026 the Jets are taking another new squad to play in the Lisbon International Cup with teams from all over the world competing.
The Jets are the only grass roots team in the South West of England taking part in these types of international football tournaments and offering these types of opportunities – and remember we don’t make any money from the tour so this isn’t a money making venture for the club but just a great chance to play incredible tournaments for our players and parents to enjoy.
What playing positions are Jets under 15’s looking to fill in the squad?
We are looking for 2 more players to complete our squad and are primarily seeking:
- Central Defenders
- Central Defensive Midfielders

What type of skills are we looking for at the trials in order to join the Jets squad
Looking for players with some or all of the following skills:
- Great first touch and instant control
- Able to read the game, scan the pitch before receiving the ball and complete simple passes
- Great fitness, stamina and determination to win the ball
- Tough tackling and heading – players who are aggressive and physically strong and able to compete
- Intelligence – great football brain to understand player positions, team tactics and formations of the team
- Great personal discipline and mature attitude
- Great attitude to learning, training and matches – unselfish and positive team player – flexible and relaxed regarding which team position they play
- Players who want to improve their personal game and talent. Must want to progress and be able to take honest advice, direction and sometimes criticism from the coaches
- Late developing players – aged between 14 and 17 players develop greatly – if you a late developing player who has improved significantly in the last 12 months then we would like you to attend our trials
I’m a good player – I might not have the past football experience you are looking for – are you still interested?
Yes – lower league players can suddenly and rapidly progress with good coaching and advice – we know and have good experience of players improving dramatically between 14 and 17 years old – we don’t care who you used to play for – if you are good now we want you – please come to the trials.
I play for another team in the Torbay Pioneer league – are you interested in me?
Yes – We are interested to hear from any player who is interested in joining us – so get in touch.
I play Saturday football in Junior Premier League - can I still play for Jets on Sundays?
Yes – there is nothing stopping you – last season we had six JPL players playing for us – if you play JPL we know you are committed to travelling and football so please come to the trials and play for the best grass roots team.
I play Saturday football in the Devon Junior and Minor League (Plymouth) - can I still play for Jets on Sundays?
Yes – last season we had six players from the Plymouth region playing for us – please come to the trials.
I play Saturday football in the Exeter and District Youth League (Exeter region) - can I still play for Jets on Sundays?
Yes – last season we had five players from the Exeter and East Devon region playing for us – please come to the trials.
I am just released from a professional academy – what can you offer?
South Devon Youth Jets play at the best facilities and are the best grass roots under 15 team in terms of opportunities to play at a higher level
We are proven winners in league and cup and only missed out on reaching last season’s Devon Cup final sadly losing on penalties in the semi final.
We now have a new team of talented players from across the region for the 2025/26 season. We always arrange games v professional academies to showcase our players and offer our players great experiences.
With Jets you can win competitions, travel to international competitions and play academy level football teams.

South Devon Youth FC is a unique club sponsored by Plants Galore and is able to offer great facilities and opportunities for football players.
We do charge limited monthly fee’s in line with other grass roots clubs but we are superb value compared to any other Devon team (Click Here)

New Code of Conduct for Coaches, Players and Parents
- We operate a new strict code of conduct regarding player discipline on the pitch and communication between coaches, players and parents during and after a game.
- A good positive line of communication is always the best policy, and so we offer a direct line to all parents and players regarding after match analysis, feedback and discussion.
- In order to run a successful squad then a code of conduct is important and must be adhered to by Coaches, Parents and Players. Failure to adhere to the code of conduct will result in players leaving the squad.
